We finally have headway with potty training!
It has been a frustrating and long road with the potty and I am glad to see the light at the end of the tunnel ( I think? )
The main obstacle that we faced with the potty was with number 2! Madison was actually able to pee quite well in the potty/toilet but she faced a seemingly insurmountable mental block with number 2. We had a debacle with severe constipation the first time we tried to go diaper free, and so since then I gave up completely.
When Madison started school the teacher was confident she could try going diaperless while in class during the day. Initially she ended up with wet undies, but within a week she managed to stay dry. In the afternoons we would put her back in the diaper so that she would poo, and I was wondering how we were going to solve that one.
Then Annika started using the toilet to poo! That credit goes to Warni. Her friend across the road ( at Novena ) told her to start Annika on the toilet so that she gets used to pooing on the loo. I then showed Madison that her baby sister was already pooing on the loo. ( No pressure of course...)
I think that did it. Magically she was suddenly able to use the toilet for number 2! It was weird. A real breakthrough!
Oh.. and guess what ? Chris FOR SOME STRANGE reason decided to take her night diaper off JUST before bed and FORGOT to put it back on. Guess what happened? At least her duvet got washed for a change!
Anyway.. lesson learned. Hopefully with Annika we will be mindful and keep her using the loo for poo. Who knew potty training would be such a chore!
