Hitting new milestones.

Before I forget I should get Annika's milestones down.

She is really developing FAST these days.

She crawled at 8months 1 week.
She pull to standing not long after that, around 8 months 3 weeks
She is able to wave bye-bye, I think that happened soon after 8 months?
Her pincer grip is good, she did that at 8 months 2 weeks. Now she can feed herself small finger foods already.

Solids are a real HEADACHE. I started out with great enthusiasm and excitement but it has deteriorated since then... She is not a big fan of purees and it is driving me insane trying to work out a meal for her! I have tried the "western" Annabel Karmel style with ice cubes, various cereals and congees. I can't remember what I did with Madison, but I think she had the traditional Asian congees. I can't remember if she liked them either. Lucky her... being number 2 I am definetely more relaxed and so as long as she gets her milk in that's ok.

Which reminds me of the debacle just the past week. Annika's night diapers have been dry to say the least ( one night was COMPLETELY dry!) and that really worried me. To go over 12 hours without a single pee seemed rather abnormal. Anyhow, we decided to test her renal function, just to be safe. So she ended up with a needle and blood taking. The results were ok. Thank goodness. I think my supply must have been dwindling. Now I try to make an effort to feed her properly before bed. It's hard. If she is wide awake she refuses and FIGHTS me trying to give her a proper feed. Then if she gets too sleepy she also refuses to feed. Sometimes I feel so over breastfeeding and her being dependant on me to supply her enough calories and fluids! 3 more months to 1 year... then she is going to get more fluids from the cup! And she can have flavoured milk...ie MILO..

In Madison news, she too is growing up so fast! She is already 3! She is into dinosaurs, dragon dances and watching all manner of media... TV. Iphone. Ipad. Laptop. Youtube. Barney videos. It's endless. It's started. Thank goodness for school. I dread sick days.. all she wants to do is watch stuff! I am keen on starting swim lessons but she FAILED the swim assessment at the Pine tree club. IE NOT READY. Right now Madison goes to school 5 half days, art class at CANVASS on Wednesdays, music at Mandeville on Saturdays. Chris can't wait till she picks up golf. I want her to be able to swim. Gymnastics looks promising too! What about tennis? How do kids fit it all in?

Geok is expecting her 2nd in September. She has also bought her 3rd home, this time a house near my parents'. She has it all! 3 homes, 2 kids.. good job, all she needs are dogs! Good for her...

1 year old is bittersweet... my little one is no more a baby... I will be glad for the baby work to be OVER... night wakings, feedings, etc... BUT I will miss her babyness, the cuteness .. she is so huggable right now!
