Annika's photo shoot

We finally had the photoshoot on Friday.

It went pretty well, except that she ended up with abrasions on her nose!

The shoot started at 5Pm, and we were there right on time. They however, were not really ready!

The studio was small, but the worst thing it was up a horrendously steep flight of stairs. Of course we just had to arrive with 2 strollers and 2 kids with 2 bags of stuff that comes along with the kids. Thankfully Madison was all excited about the shoot so she scaled the stairs herself, that left Chris to deal with 2 strollers while I carried Annika and the bags.

The photographer himself was not particularly great. He had some of his work hanging around the studio and they were quite nice, but when it came to actually taking the photos I thought he could have been better.

For some reason he couldn't engage Annika. The studio wasn't child friendly either, you know, with colourful toys, stickers, balloons etc, stuff that kids would go for. He kept insisting that she sit with these 2 huge teddy bears that he brought out, and when she finally did he WASN'T ready with the camera! Annika did well, considering it was an hour long shoot.

Then, at the end, she started getting antsy, and was wanting to leave. Of course at the same time we get a call about car parking charges at our rental unit and while we were distracted Annika managed to pull the stroller and fall with it on top of her. Of course she ends up bleeding from scratches on her nose from the stroller. Sigh.

Anyhow.. we did go out for dinner at Prive after the shoot and that went great. Prive JUST put up a little kiddy house complete with picnic table and a small slide. The girls LOVED it. Kept them busy until dinner arrived.

We had a quiet weekend. Stayed at home and went to the pool both days, then I went shopping Sunday afternoon while everyone napped ( including the daddy ). Went over to the Novena house as late as possible; it's usually quite bad on weekends because the sis and BIL are home. Of course then E acts up and is completely whiny and crying for attention, gets into fights constantly with Madison and then of course Madison gets in trouble. Within 5 minutes of arriving at the house, Madison gets told off by G for taking something from E, then she gets put in naughty chair for something else.

Sigh, sigh sigh.... story of the kids and my life. Is it an age thing? All this snatching and pushing and shoving! It's like survival of the fittest ! Annika is pretty tough though... she doesn't really get very upset by Madison's bullying unless she is tired herself. Madison head butted her and she didn't even blink an eye! It was Madison that admitted her head hurt after head butting her sister!
