Mommy brain

Something happens to women after pregnancy and motherhood....

I'd always believed that was some kind of urban myth or an excuse that people used for their innate forgetfulness, but having experienced it first hand now.... I don't doubt that for a FACT!

Uncanny forgetfulness, especially when it comes to my own things and NEVER her things.... I have lost, to date, some important parcels, my mobile phone and today, my precious CAR KEYS /HOUSE KEYS/ GYM KEYS! All while shopping at Centrepoint!

It was really spooky. We arrived at Centrepoint at around 3 PM and were merrily checking out the shops, and never realised anything was amiss until it was time to go home.Pa was carrying Madison and we had got back to the car, and suddenly I just could not find the keys! Of course that set me off in a major panic and I ran back, tracing our steps to try and find it. We had gone to the baby change room as soon as we had arrived to change Madison's diaper, so I presumed I must have left the keys accidentally on the table then. But as luck would have it, the keys were not there and the cleaner had JUST changed shift! I think I passed her as she was leaving too!

I had to rush back to the car, get Madison to feed her and put her down for a nap, thank goodnes I had brought the Moms In Mind sarong out this time with me and not left it in the car! After I had fed her and she was sleeping Pa and I tried to search for the keys again. It was in vain.

In the end, we had to take a taxi back home, leaving the car in the carpark. Chris HAD to be working late THAT day too... stuck in OT until close to midnight! Thank goodness Pa was forward planning, and organised for the spare key to be brought to him at the OT reception and he collected the car for me at around 10 PM that night.

I think my bag is also partly to blame... its a new red bag that must be somehow jinxed??? So I have since given it away to Nancy...

I am still hoping a kind soul will pick the keys up and return them to me somehow.... is it too much???
